There is growing research showing the role of nutrition in improving brain health and function. The food you eat can literally change the composition and chemistry of your brain!
Nutrition also plays a direct role in improving gut health. Having a healthy gut not only improves digestion and metabolism, but can also improve mood, immunity and reduce risk of many chronic diseases.
In nutrition consultations, we cover topics such as:
Each session will vary depending on your goals. However, most sessions will include the following components:
$180 | 60 Minutes
Appointments can range from 30 – 60 minutes. If it’s our first time meeting, a 45-60 minute appointment is usually recommended as more time is required to cover your medical and lifestyle history. Follow up/review appointments are usually 30-45 minutes.
Depending on your situation/medical conditions/goals, different appointment times may be recommended for you.
All nutrition appointments are at least 30 minutes in duration.
A lot can happen between appointments. At each session, we check in to reassess your goals, changes to your lifestyle, work etc. before creating a new plan based on those changes. Longer appointments also mean I can get to know you better and have a better understanding of your needs. That way, I can make better and more tailored recommendations to help you achieve your nutrition goals.
The number of consultations you may need will depend on a few things: your goals, progress in achieving those goals, and personal preference.
If you have a longer term goal, you may require support over a longer period of time until you reach those goals, and vice versa. It’s common to fall off the bandwagon with lifestyle changes – don’t stress! The point of review consultations is to follow up and ‘check-in’ with you at different timepoints of your journey. We identify any barriers or challenges you have experienced since the last appointment, and make new recommendations or strategies to address those. Even if you haven’t struggled with making changes, some people prefer more frequent appointments to have someone keep them accountable.
Dietetic services are only covered by Medicare if you have a valid Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Chronic Disease Management Plan from your doctor. Please check with your doctor to see if you’re eligible.
Clients with a valid care plan may get rebates for up to 5 dietetic consultations per calendar year. This number may vary depending on how many consultations your doctor has allocated to dietetics. Please check with your doctor if you’re unsure.
Private health rebates are available for face-to-face and Telehealth nutrition consultations if dietetics is included in your insurance policy. A receipt will be provided for you to take to your private health fund.
The amount you can claim depends on your own individual policy and extras cover. Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to check the exact amount. Please contact your private health fund directly.
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way and appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled. However, to ensure fairness to other clients, a strict cancellation policy applies. One cancellation or reschedule is permitted per appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice. Two consecutive cancellations or reschedules for the same appointment will result in forfeiting or being invoiced for half of the consultation fee. Bookings cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in forfeiting or being invoiced the entire consultation fee.

If you have an EPC or Chronic Disease Management Plan, please bring that as well as any other supporting documents (e.g. doctors letters, latest blood test report) to your first appointment.
Apart from that, bring a smile, an open mind and any questions you have!
